After a full day in the desert it was time to watch a little baseball. Hannah and John had arrived and we were headed to the new Chicago Cubs stadium. It is a thing of beauty and we thought this sign was genius. We had excellent seats and the food was terrific. Oh yeah, we watched a bit of baseball too. Friday night we met up with John’s parents, Mary and Tim, and his sister, Teresa and her baby, Mason and had a lovely dinner at Tommy Bahamas. Saturday found us in…SURPRISE literally, for a game between SF Giants and the Kansas City Royals. We had seats on the grass and the sun was out. Spring baseball and weather is the best. It was pouring down rain and hail in the Bay Area, but we didn’t even need a sweatshirt for the evening.
We said all our good-byes to the group and headed out Sunday morning so we could split the drive into 2 days. Southern California traffic was a nightmare and our GPS rerouted us all the way to LA, but we made it to Santa Clarita to a great little park before dark. Another great dinner at the Wolf Creek Tavern…yes we did do a lot of eating on this trip! Made it home Monday afternoon and ready to head back to reality early Tuesday morning. Looking forward to our next trip in mid-April-San Diego here we come.
